Plant Pathology Research
The Zeng Lab at Virginia Tech studies interactions between plant pathogens and their host plants, including tobacco, corn, and strawberry. Our research combines molecular, bioinformatics, and field-based approaches to better understand plant diseases and develop strategies that support healthier, more resilient crops.

Did you know?
Tobacco belongs to the same plant family as tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and eggplants! Although these crops are used in different ways, they share many important botanical characteristics.
